Exploring the activity feed for projects

The project activity feed provides a detailed log of all events and updates related to your project. It serves as a centralized record, allowing you to monitor project changes and access previous versions efficiently.
This feature is accessible through the Activity tab on your project page. Additionally, the recent activities related to the project are available from the Recent updates section on the Project overview page.

Details captured in the activity feed
The Activity tab in your project shows a detailed record of all changes, including what was modified, when it happened, who made the change, and which object was affected. The following details are included in each activity entry.
Detail | Description |
---|---|
Change type | Indicates what kind of activity was made and provides a record of the modification made to the project or its contents, including what changed and its updated state. |
Contributor information | The user avatar and username to identify who made the change. Note: For system-driven events, the action icon is displayed without user information and labeled as Was modified by base layer. |
Associated object link | A direct link to the related item or resource affected by the change. This link is available for activities where a specific object is modified or referenced. |
Timestamp | The exact time the activity occurred, offering chronological context for the project progress. |

Events tracked in the activity feed
Action | Details |

Updating project details | Modifications to the description, tags, summary, or title |
Adding content | Uploading insights, files (from a computer or URL), connecting datasets, or creating queries |
Managing discussions | Creating new discussion topics and commenting on existing ones |
Adjusting project settings | Changing project visibility settings or adding new users |
Removing content | Deleting files or datasets |
Viewing the activity feed
To manage and explore activity details:
Navigate to the Activity tab on the project page.
View a stream of all tracked changes related to the project. For detailed information about specific changes, click Show changes to view additional details.
Hover over the timestamp of any event to view the exact time it occurred. To explore more, click the linked name to open the associated event item.
For changes that involve file additions or metadata updates, you can download the corresponding version by selecting Download version from the Three dot menu associated with the change.
To view a complete list of all available file versions for download, navigate to the Versions sub-tab. This feature is particularly useful when you need to access the older versions of files included in the project.
