Adding related resources to datasets
Enhance your dataset by adding related business terms, analyses, and tables. Establishing these relationships improves data discoverability and provides users with richer insights.
Adding relationships between datasets and resources
To add related resources to datasets:
Go to a dataset.
In the Overview tab, click the Add a related resource button and select one of the following resource types:
Table
Analysis
Business term
In the Edit a related resource for this dataset window, do the following:
Related resource: Type the resource name and select it from the dropdown. To search for all available resources of a selected type, enter * or ?.
Relationship type: Select the relationship type between the resources. If only one type is available, this option is disabled. Relationship types are pre-configured by the administrator. If the required type is missing, contact your catalog administrator.
Click Add to create the relationship. Review the changes and add more relationships if needed.
To remove a relationship, click Remove next to the relationship you want to delete.
Once all changes are made, click Save changes.
After saving, view the established relationships in the Overview tab. The relationships also appear on the related resource pages, linking back to the dataset.
Removing relationships between datasets and resources
To remove an existing relationship:
Go to a dataset.
In the Overview tab, locate the related resources list and click Edit. Related resources are grouped by type, such as Tables, Analysis, and Business terms.
In the Edit a related resource for this dataset window, click Remove next to the relationship.
Click Save changes.
The relationship is now removed from both the dataset and the corresponding resource page.
