Navigating using mouse keys

Navigating using mouse keys allows you to control the mouse cursor directly from your keyboard, providing an alternative method for users who prefer keyboard-based navigation. You can activate and use mouse keys on both Mac and Windows systems.

Navigating with mouse keys on Mac

To navigate with mouse keys on Mac:

  1. Go to System preferences > Accessibility > Pointer control > Alternative control methods > Enable mouse keys.

  2. To activate mouse keys, press the Option key 5 times.

  3. Once activated, use the number keys to control the mouse cursor.

Navigating with mouse keys on Windows

To navigate with mouse keys on Windows:

  1. Click Start button, then click Control panel > Ease of access > Ease of access center > Make the mouse easier to use.

  2. On the Control the mouse with the keyboard, select the Turn on Mouse Keys.

  3. To activate mouse keys, press Alt + Left Shift + Num Lock.

  4. Once activated, use the number keys to control the mouse cursor.
