Enhance a resource page with custom section
STEP 1: Create a custom section
The system comes with four out-of-the-box sections - Informational, People, Technical, Explorer Sidebar Metadata. You can view them from the Resources tab by filtering on Sections. This will also give you a list of custom sections created in the organization.

Perform this task in the Catalog Configuration organization.
To add a new custom section:
On the Organization profile page, go to the Resources tab.
Click the New resource button.
In the Add new resource window, set the following and click Continue.
In the Title field, provide a name of the custom section you want to add. For example, Calculations.
From the Choose type section, select Section.
From the Choose one or more collections dropdown, select the Metadata profile collection.
In the Edit resource window, set the rest of the properties for the section and click the Save button.
STEP 2: Create a custom field
Note
Perform this task in the Catalog Configuration organization.
On the Organization profile page, go to the Resources tab.
Click the New resource button.
In the Add new resource window, set the following and click Continue.
In the Title field, provide a name of the field you want to add. For example, let us add a field called Profit calculation.
From the Choose type section, select the Metadata field - freeform option.
From the Choose one or more collections dropdown, select the Metadata profile collection.
In the Edit resource window, set the rest of the properties for the field and click the Save button. You can alternatively also create date fields or select fields.
STEP 3: Add the custom field to the custom section

Perform this task in the Catalog Configuration organization.
On the Profit calculation page, go to the Related tab.
Click Add related resource. In the Edit a related resource window, go to the Section tab.
Search and select the Calculations section. Click Add.

Perform this task in the Catalog Configuration organization.
On the Profit calculation page, go to the Related tab.
Click Add related resource. In the Edit a related resource window, go to the Type tab.
In the Edit a related resource window, search and select Metric. Click Add.
Publish the changes

Note
Perform this task in the Catalog Sandbox organization.
In the Catalog Sandbox organization, go the Glossary tab of the Organization profile page.
Either create a new Business Metric or select an exiting one.
You will notice a new section on the page call Calculations with the field Profit calculations. Edit the field to set a value for it.
