Dashboard

The first page that appears after you log in is the Dashboard. An example view of the dashboard is shown in the figure below. Notice the menu on the left side, and the buttons at the top-right of the page.

On the dashboard, you can:

  • Access My Documents

  • Access Data Sources

  • View any documents shared with you

  • Create a new document

  • Add a folder

  • Import a document

  • Drag-and-drop to move folders and move an item to another folder

  • Rename files and folders

  • Move items to the trash

  • Access the Trash

You’ll learn more about the details of the dashboard in the chapters below. To begin creating a new document, continue on to the next section.

My Documents

It's easy to add a document to Grafo. Any new document will appear in the dashboard on the My Documents page.

Click on a document to view the toolbar in the upper-right corner. Continue reading to learn more about each of these tools.

Move to a folder

You can move a document to a folder. Click Move to a folder to display a popup window in which you can choose the folder. Click the destination folder and click the MOVE button.

Note

It is also possible to drag-and-drop files into folders directly on the dashboard.

Duplicate

Click the Duplicate button in the toolbar to create a copy of the document in the same folder.

Rename

Click the Rename button in the toolbar to display a popup window in which you can type in a new name for the document.

Share

Click the Share button in the toolbar to display a popup window in which you'll see options for sharing the document.

Delete

Click the Delete button to move a document to the Trash. Click OK in the popup window to confirm your intention.

Export

Click the Export button in the toolbar to display a popup window in which you can select a format for exporting the document.

Comment notifications

A notification indicator appears next to the shared document title when another user has made a comment.

Adding a folder

Add a folder by clicking the bright blue +NEW FOLDER button in the top right-hand corner:

In the popup window, enter a name for the folder and click OK.

Your new folder will appear in the alphabetized list of documents.

Folder toolbar

Click on a folder in the My Documents page, and the toolbar in the upper-right of the page will change to include only the buttons that apply to folder operations.

Move to a new folder

Click the Move to new folder button in the toolbar to display a popup window, then click on the destination folder. Finally, click the MOVE button to initiate the move the that folder.

Note

It is also possible to drag-and-drop a folder into another folder directly on the My Documents page.

Duplicate

Click the Duplicate button in the toolbar to create a copy of the folder. Notice that the name of the copied folder begins with "Copy of".

You can easily rename the new folder.

Rename a folder

Click the Rename button in the toolbar to open a popup window and give a new name to an existing folder.

Delete a folder

Click the Delete button in the toolbar to open a popup window. If you're sure that you want to delete this folder, click the OK button to move a folder and all of its contents to the Trash.

Documents shared with me

Any documents that have been shared with you can be found when you click Shared With Me > Documents on the left-side menu of dashboard.

Note

Documents and folders in Shared With Me > Documents have the same operations available as those in My Documents. One exception is that documents or folders cannot be deleted from here.

Trash

Click the Trash item in the left-side menu of the Dashboard to view any documents that have been deleted. Documents and folders that have been moved to the Trash will automatically purged after one month. To manually empty the trash, click EMPTY TRASH in the top-right corner.

Search

To search for a file or folder, click on the Search button in the top-left corner.

Type your search term(s) into the field and hit the Enter key. Clicking on a listing in the search results will open a document or folder.
